OPENING BELL: SENSEX, NIFTY50 START ON A POSITIVE NOTE


Domestic equity markets opened in green on Thursday following firm global cues.

The 30-shares BSE Sensex was trading over 100 points up at at 30,406 in early trade around 9.25 am (IST), while the NSE Nifty index was up 32 points, or 0.35 per cent, at 9,392.

Among the 51-components in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in green with Bosch gaining the most 1.42 per cent, followed by Bajaj AutoBSE 0.14 % (up 1 per cent), InfosysBSE 1.79 % (up 0.90 per cent), Asian PaintsBSE -0.05 % (up 0.81 per cent) and IndusInd BankBSE 1.24 % (up 0.78 per cent).

On the other hand, LupinBSE -6.98 %, Bharti AirtelBSE 1.79 % and Aurobindo PharmaBSE -0.08 % were down 5.95 per cent, 1.81 per cent and 1.44 per cent, respectively.

Bosch, CiplaBSE -1.12 % and Indian Oil CorporationBSE -0.38 % will announce their financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 on Thursday. Q4 results today, 25 May 2017.
